### Miktex output

If I am using this Latex coding to generate an equation, am I needing to install Ghostscript or something similar to see my output (i.e. the equation I created)?

No, you do not need to install anything to use $\LaTeX$ here, simply enclose the code in the tags.

In the first post in this topic, there are some latex commands that work here. I am not familiar with mik.

MiKTeX includes a DVI viewer, you shouldn't need to install Ghostscript.
Pari/GP: this is the program I probably mentioned in my post. Windows users can get it at http://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/pub/pari ... -2-6-2.exe
